The Moonlight Tour
As the sun sets over Cairns into a balmy tropical
night, visitors are launched into the calm estuaries of
Trinity Inlet.
Sitting in the comfort of Great
Day vessel, this calm water cruise becomes a
moonlight adventure as the nocturnal fauna of the water
ways awakens. Fish, crustaceans, aquatic worms, molluscs
and over 150 species of birds inhabit these
waters.
The alert eye may catch a
dragonfly dancing on the water's surface, a Heron feeding
on small baitfish, or a Flying Fox hanging amongst the
mangroves.
The first stop gives visitors the chance to
pull up giant live Mud Crabs. Photographs of this
spectacular sea creature can be taken with its claws safely
restrained.
The challenge of catching hard-fighting
tropical fish begins. Whether it be the famous Barramundi or a
Mangrove Jack, these fish ensure visitors work up an
appetite worthy of a feast of barbecue King Prawns,
sausage sizzle and dessert, which is served aboard Great
Day.
The Moonlight Tour ends with a relaxing cruise
back to the jetty.
Facilities Free courtesy coach available to
Cairns and the northern beaches.
Full amenities with
toilet.
Twin hull aluminium vessel with full weather protection
